These terms apply to all services provided by BTD Plumbing & Heating (Ben Davis). By asking us to carry out work, you agree to them. If anything here isn't clear, get in touch before we start.
1. About us
BTD Plumbing & Heating is a sole trader operated by Ben Davis, Pye Lane, Broad Town, Swindon, SN4 7RR. Gas Safe registered (No. 529962) and OFTEC registered (No. C11108).
2. Quotes and estimates
Written quotes are valid for 30 days and are based on the information available at the time. Where a system needs opening up (e.g. suspected leaks, hidden pipework, or unexpected corrosion) any additional work will be discussed and priced before we proceed.
3. Work carried out
All gas work is carried out in accordance with the Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations. All oil work is carried out to OFTEC and Building Regulations standards. Where notifiable, installations are certified and registered on your behalf.
4. Payment
Unless agreed otherwise in writing, payment is due within 7 days of the invoice date by bank transfer or cash. Late payments may incur interest at 4% above the Bank of England base rate.
5. Warranty
All installations are carried out to manufacturer specifications, ensuring your warranty is fully valid. Manufacturer warranties on boilers and parts (typically 2–12 years depending on brand and model) apply and are transferred to you on registration. Warranties are void if the appliance is worked on by an unregistered engineer or if annual servicing is not carried out. Any issue with our workmanship is put right by Ben personally.
6. Cancellations and access
Please give at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule a booked appointment. Where an engineer attends and cannot gain access to the property, a call-out charge may apply.
7. Liability
We hold full public liability insurance. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for any other liability that cannot be limited under UK law. We are not liable for pre-existing faults, or for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable.
8. Complaints
If something isn't right, please contact us first at info@btdplumbingheating.co.uk or 07920 042880 so we can put it right. Gas Safe Register and OFTEC also operate independent complaints procedures for the work they regulate.
